Military law

For service members

Legal consultations are also available in English.

Military law requires legal precision and a thorough understanding of military procedures. Our advice is informed by many years of service in the Bundeswehr and extensive experience in military personnel administration, most recently as head of an S1/personnel department of a paratroop regiment. We understand the perspectives of service members as well as the organizational requirements of military personnel administration.

Our practice focuses on advising and representing service members in disciplinary proceedings—from the initial hearing and investigations through representation in judicial proceedings. German military disciplinary law encompasses measures ranging from minor disciplinary sanctions to measures imposed in judicial disciplinary proceedings, including a prohibition on promotion, reduction in rank, or removal from the service relationship.

We also advise and represent service members in matters of military service law, particularly in complaint proceedings, personnel actions, and matters involving official performance evaluations, assignments, promotions, transfers, and discharge. Our goal is committed, discreet, and realistic representation of our clients’ interests, with due regard for the personal and professional consequences of each decision.
